RECENT NEWS AND EVENTS
Earlier this month we facilitated a very successful Partnering Workshop with the 22-strong Senior
Management Team of Aone+ and the Highways Agency in Area 12. This Workshop used the world
renowned and very successful Team Management Profile Tool as a basis for highlighting
individual's work preferences. The workshop saw both organisations collaborating and maximising
their potential as a team by understanding individual's strengths and weaknesses and preferred
roles within their working environment. One key objective for the workshop was to develop a deeper
understanding of themselves, as well as their fellow team members. Members then used this
knowledge to identify ways to further improve, to take advantage of the challenging economic
conditions to deliver more for less.
The day was brilliant, with loads of positive feedback from participants and they were extremely
keen to see further roll out of the TMP across their middle managers, as well as a follow-up for them
to continue to develop their knowledge and understanding.
This was the first time the Highways Agency and Aone+ (the HA's leading MAC provider) have
utilised the Team Management Profile and from the feedback so far, hopefully will be the first of
of many more to come.

CURRENT NEWS:
Our Director, Scott Bloxsom attended an Industry Forum hosted by Tarmac at the Haydock
Racecourse on 5th October. This forum brought together a wide range of public and private sector
representatives to discuss the impacts of the pending October Spending Review and how we can optimise
opportunities to work together more efficiently and effectively.
We are also planning to take an opportunity to bring together both local authorities and Highways Agency
to discuss the potential savings to be gained from working together in a structured approach.
On 1st September, Scott Bloxsom attended the final PIM (Partner programme Infrastructure
Management) Conference in Utrect, The Netherlands. This conference brought to a close a 5 year
project aimed at sharing Best Practice between the UK and The Netherlands in several areas related
to Road & Waterway infrastructure management. Our involvement with this major public/private
change programme focused (among other things) on provision of advice on Best Practice
Maintenance Procurement and Partnership working. Our involvement goes back to the inaugural
workshop held on 5th October 2005, and we have played an integral role in working with
Rijkswaterstaat to improve their business.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with Rijkswaterstaat in future years. For further
information on the PIM project, please go to www.rws.nl/pim
